Depression/Anxiety
Depression and anxiety continue to exert a profound impact on the lives of teenagers and young adults, shaping their emotional well-being and overall quality of life. The pressures and challenges of modern life, coupled with the ever-increasing use of digital technologies, have contributed to a rising prevalence of these mental health issues in this demographic. My work in the public and private school system has given me first hand experience in the increase in need for treating depression and/or anxiety.
Improved Child / Caregiver Relationships
At my counseling practice, I am dedicated to enhancing child/caregiver relationships by implementing a comprehensive and client-centered approach. Late Adolescence and early adulthood can be particularly difficult times to navigate, causing strenuous relationships with caregivers. I aim to provide services using evidence based techniques to improve the relationship between clients and their caregivers.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD, or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, can have significant impacts on teenagers, affecting various aspects of their lives. Teens and young adults with ADHD often struggle with impulse control, attention span, and organization, making academic performance and peer relationships challenging. It is never too late to learn to tailor strategies to their specific needs, such as time management and organizational skills, to improve academic, occupational, and social success.
School related stressors and issues
Working in the school system (both private and public) has provided me with first hand experience of what stressors students experience on day-to-day basis. Using the techniques I have acquired through my years in the school system, I can provide techniques to help your student thrive, regain motivation, or get back on track.
